Bruce Matthews moved to the Outer Banks with his wife Mary Jo in late 2000 after spending 30 years in technology and application sales in the Computer Industry. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, he moved south in 1988 to own and operate his own company in Richmond, Virginia. Joining Surf or Sound Realty in 2004, he thrived on the challenge of bringing his organizational and selling skills to the company.
Having recruited over 200 new homes to Surf or Sound Realty since joining the company, he brings the same attention to detail and negotiating skills to real estate property sales. His expansive knowledge of Outer Banks property management, and what makes a vacation rental home attractive to both potential renters and investors, gives his clients an advantage when purchasing or selling a second or vacation rental home.
While enjoying fishing and golf, Bruce is also active in the community. He is a member of the Citizen Action Committee to replace the Bonner Bridge, Manteo Rotary Club, and youth soccer programs for both high school and recreation. He is also an active member of the Mt. Olivet Praise Band, "Resounding Praise."
